Setting, also known as hardening. It is the process of linear synthetic resins transforming into three-dimensional structures when thermosetting plastics are molded.
It is the process of linear synthetic resins transforming into three-dimensional structures when thermosetting plastics are molded. Certain substances need to be added in the process, either to catalyze the setting or to participate in the setting itself. For example, hexamethylenetetramine needs to be added to thermoplastic phenolic compressed powder as a setting agent.
The wet film of solvent-based paint should be placed in the air at room temperature for a certain period of time (15 minutes) before drying to allow the solvent in the film to fully evaporate to a semi-dry state; or the interval time between the construction of two wet-on-wet coatings is called setting or "drying". The purpose of drying is to evaporate most of the solvent in the wet film and give the coating film a chance to level, avoiding defects such as "orange peel", "pinholes" and "wrinkles" in the coating film.
