Engineering plastic diaphragm pump

  • Apr 09, 2025

The engineering plastic diaphragm pump is a new type of conveying machinery and the most innovative type of pump in China.

The main feature of this pump is that it does not need to be filled with water, and it can not only pump flowing liquids, but also transport some easy-flowing media.

Introduction to engineering plastic diaphragm pumps

The diaphragm pump is a new type of conveying machinery and is currently the most innovative type of pump in China. It uses compressed air as the power source, and can completely pump out all kinds of corrosive liquids, liquids with particles, high viscosity, volatile, flammable, and highly toxic liquids. The main feature of this pump is that it does not need to be filled with water, and it can not only pump flowing liquids, but also transport some easy-flowing media. It has a high suction range, is safe and explosion-proof, and has all the functions of submersible pumps, self-priming pumps, impurity pumps, shielded pumps, and mud pumps, as well as many characteristics of conveying machinery.

The engineering plastic diaphragm pump is the part that passes through the material body, and the material is all engineering plastics.

The diaphragm material of Zhengao Engineering Plastic Diaphragm Pump is generally polytetrafluoroethylene, which has strong acid and alkali resistance, resistance to various organic solvents, and is almost insoluble in all solvents. F46 material diaphragm is the best quality diaphragm product in China. This material is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, an improved material of polytetrafluoroethylene, and has the reputation of "plastic king".

Working Principle

A diaphragm is installed in each of the two symmetrical working chambers A and B of the pump, which are connected into one by a central connecting rod. Compressed air enters the gas distribution valve from the air inlet of the pump, and is introduced into one of the chambers through the gas distribution mechanism, pushing the diaphragm in the chamber to move, while the gas in the other chamber is discharged. Once

the end of the stroke is reached, the gas distribution mechanism automatically introduces compressed air into the other working chamber, pushing the diaphragm to move in the opposite direction, so that the two diaphragms reciprocate continuously and synchronously. In the figure, compressed air enters the gas distribution valve from E, causing the diaphragm to move to the right, and the suction force of chamber A causes the medium to flow in from the C inlet, push the ball valve open and enter chamber A, and the ball valve is locked due to suction; the medium in chamber B is squeezed, pushing the ball valve open and flowing out from outlet D, while the ball valve is locked to prevent backflow, and the medium is continuously sucked in from the C inlet and discharged from the D outlet in this reciprocating cycle.

Performance characteristics

1. No need to pour water, the suction distance is up to 7m, the head is up to 50m, and the outlet pressure is ¡Ý6kgf/c©O. The flow is wide and the passing performance is good, allowing the QBY pneumatic diaphragm pump to pump both flowing liquids and some media that are not easy to flow. It has many advantages of self-priming pumps, submersible pumps, shielded pumps, mud pumps and impurity pumps.

2. The head and flow rate can be adjusted steplessly through the opening of the air valve. (The air pressure is adjusted between 1-7kg/c©O).

3. The engineering plastic diaphragm pump has no rotating parts, and there is no shaft seal diaphragm to completely separate the pumped medium from the moving parts and working medium of the pump, and the transported medium will not leak out. Therefore, when pumping toxic, volatile or corrosive media, it will not cause environmental pollution and endanger personal safety.

4. No electricity is required, and it is safe and reliable to use in flammable and explosive places.

5. It can work immersed in the medium.

6. It is easy to use and reliable in operation. To start and stop the pump, you only need to open and close the gas valve. Even if the pump runs without medium for a long time or stops suddenly due to unexpected circumstances, the pump will not be damaged. Once overloaded, the pump will automatically stop and have self-protection performance. When the load returns to normal, it can automatically start and run again.

7. Simple structure and few wearing parts. The diaphragm pump has a simple structure, convenient installation and maintenance. The medium transported by the pump will not contact the gas distribution valve, connecting rod and other moving parts. Unlike other types of pumps, the performance gradually decreases due to the wear of the rotor, piston, gear, blade and other parts.

8. The engineering plastic diaphragm pump does not need to be lubricated with oil. Even if it runs idle, it will not have any effect on the pump. This is a major feature of the pump.

9. The engineering plastic diaphragm pump has strong corrosion resistance and is suitable for various chemical media. The product is light in weight and easy to move and install.

Disadvantages of Engineering Plastic Diaphragm Pumps

1. Engineering plastic diaphragm pumps are not suitable for conveying mediums with high viscosity! The conveying of high viscosity medium causes large vibration of the pump and unstable operation.

2. It cannot be used for the transportation of high temperature fluid medium.

Scope of use

1. Pumping paint, gum, pigment.

2. Adhesives and glues, all types can be pumped.

3. Various tiles, porcelain, bricks and pottery glaze slurries.

4. After the oil well is drilled, use the pump to suck sediment and grout.

5. Pumping various emulsions and fillers.

6. Pumping various sewage.

7. Use the pump to clean the tanker and barge to absorb the sewage in the warehouse.

8. Hops and fermentation powder slurry, syrup, molasses.

9. Pumping water from mines, tunnels, ore dressing and slag.

10. Various abrasives, corrosives, petroleum, cleaning grease and general containers.

11. Various highly toxic, flammable and volatile liquids.

12. Various strong acids, strong alkalis and highly corrosive liquids.

13. As a pre-stage pressure delivery device for various solid-liquid separation equipment.
