Linear polyethylene is a chemical substance, which refers to a type of polyethylene with only short side chains and no long side chains on the main chain of the macromolecule.
Linear polyethylene is relative to low-density polyethylene with long branched side chains produced by high-pressure method; it usually includes high-density polyethylene, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, linear low-density polyethylene, very low-density polyethylene, etc. They are all produced by polymerization under low pressure using Ziegler-Natta catalysts or chromium catalysts.
