PVC Foam Board

  • Apr 10, 2025

Polyvinyl chloride foam board, referred to as PVC foam board, is a fireproof material. It is mainly used as indoor light partition material, audio-visual space sound insulation material, fireproof material, refrigeration and air conditioning engineering packaging material, roof insulation material (instead of PU material) and furniture OA inner material. It has the characteristics of moisture resistance, weather resistance, impact resistance, heat insulation, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and flame resistance.

Polyvinyl chloride

Polyvinyl chloride (Poly Vinyl Chloride, abbreviated as PVC) is a polymer material obtained by addition polymerization of vinyl chloride. It is the third most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer after polyethylene and polypropylene.

Polyvinyl chloride has two basic forms: rigid and flexible. Rigid polyvinyl chloride material can be used on pipes, doors and windows. It can also be used for bottles, other non-food packaging, and bank cards or membership cards. It can also be made into soft finished products, which can be made more flexible by adding plasticizers (most commonly phthalates). In this form, it can be used for soft pipes, cable insulation, imitation leather, soft signs, inflatable products, and replaces rubber in many applications.

Pure polyvinyl chloride is a white, brittle solid. It is insoluble in alcohol but slightly soluble in tetrahydrofuran.

Refractory materials

The definition of refractory materials varies from country to country: the international standards published by ISO stipulate that refractory materials refer to inorganic non-metallic materials with a refractoriness of at least 1500буC; in China, refractory materials are inorganic non-metallic materials with a refractoriness of not less than 1580буC. At present, some specific materials, such as protective slag used in steelmaking, have a refractoriness of only 1200буC, but they are traditionally called refractories.

Refractory materials are used to make furnaces, kilns, waste incinerators, nuclear reactors, crucibles, and molds. Today, the steel industry uses about 70% of the refractories produced.
