BKG® The grain cutter has been stored for 12 years to achieve smooth operation
Twelve years ago, NEO Group purchased BKG®, which can be used to set up three PET polymerization lines; Underwater pelleters and associated components, but only two lines were installed, leaving the unused BKG equipment stored in their original packing cases. Today, the company has a newly established third PET production line, making it the second largest PET producer in Europe, and the BKG pelleters, which have been mothballed for 12 years, are toiling away as if they were delivered yesterday.
NEO Group procured a number of PET production lines from Zimmer AG, including 12 underwater pelletizing machines (four for each polymerization line), as well as polymer deflectors, gear pumps, water supply and drainage systems, particle dryers and controllers. Ruslanas Radajevas, General manager of
, said: "We just opened the packing box, assembled the BKG components and installed them into the production line. "After 12 years of storage, everything runs perfectly smoothly without any failures."
Godfrey Sandham, Vice President of Nordson Plastics Engineering Systems Group Europe, said that the smooth start-up of the pelleting system reflects the excellent quality inherent in BKG products. "The excellent reputation of BKG pelletizer and melt transfer systems prompted Nordson to acquire these businesses," said Mr. Sandham. Since then, we have invested heavily in our processes to continuously improve our products, and we have just completed the construction of a global centre for the BKG brand in Munster, Germany."
NEO Group's third PET production line can add 160,000 tons of capacity per year, bringing the total production capacity of the entire company to 480,000 tons. NEO Group's PET resin and polyol manufacturing park is located within the Klaipeda Free Economic Zone in Lithuania.
