Fanuc unveils new machine data collection tool
Fanuc UK has launched a software platform capable of collecting and managing data from up to 1,000 machines.
The company debuted MT-Linki in April at the 2018 British Industry and International Machine Tool Show (MACH2018) in Birmingham, UK.
Fanuc claims that MT-Linki is a tool monitoring solution that helps manufacturers maximize data-driven productivity.
The software platform collects, manages and visualizes data from Fanuc and non-FANuc control devices via the OPC UA server protocol.
The system is fully scalable and out of the box and can monitor and manage data from 1 to 1,000 machines, Fanuc said in a statement.
Fanuc explained that MT-Linki centralizes production data into a single centralized point via a secure network. This means it can be analyzed remotely from the production office.
This eliminates the need to inspect every piece of equipment on the factory floor.
Tom Bouchier, Fanuc UK managing director, said: "This connectivity is definitely driving change across UK industry. …"
He points out that this simple thought process is central to the development of the MT-Linki system.
