Light industry economic performance rebounded in the first two months
CCTV network news (news broadcast) : Data released by the China Light Industry Federation show that in the first two months of this year, the development momentum of consumer goods manufacturing industry has increased, driving the economic operation of light industry to rebound and improve. From January to February, more than 130,000 light industry enterprises above designated size achieved operating revenue of 3.26 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.1% year on year.
The production of light industry showed a trend of rapid growth. In the first two months, the added value of light industries above designated size grew by 6.7% year-on-year, 4.9 percentage points higher than that at the end of last year. Among them, the added value of manufacturing industries such as paper making, plastic products, household appliances and furniture grew by more than 10 percent.
The vitality of the light industrial consumer goods market gradually increased. In the first two months, retail sales of 11 categories of light industry goods reached nearly 1.3 trillion yuan, up 5.2 percent year on year. Exports of light industry as a whole rose 17.4 percent.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said it will focus on key frontier areas such as biofuturing and smart home this year to promote high-quality development of light industry.
