P&G grandly unveils its booth at the 6th CIIE

On November 6, 2023, the 6th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as "CIIE") kicked off in Shanghai yesterday. The P&G booth with the theme of "LifeLab Let a Beautiful Life Bloom" was also grandly unveiled this morning. This time, P&G brought together more than 70 exhibits from more than 20 brands in 9 categories, and more than 20 new products and green innovations made their global debut. For five consecutive years, P&G has interacted with Chinese consumers through the open platform of the CIIE, driven innovation with deep insights, so that products can adapt to more diverse consumption scenarios, and strive to bring consumers a better life experience.

Mr. Cao Hongying, Executive Vice President of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, visited the booth unveiling site and said: "I am very happy to witness the unveiling of P&G's booth. P&G has been deeply involved in the Chinese consumer market for 35 years. We have seen the company's determination to promote consumers' better lives. We have also seen P&G's integration of social responsibility concepts into production and operations, and its contribution to the sustainable development of China's economy and society."

Ms. Xu Min, Chairman and CEO of P&G Greater China, also emphasized P&G's determination to persist in consumer insights and deepen its presence in the Chinese consumer market in her unveiling speech: "Rooted in China for 35 years, we have always resonated with the Chinese market, continued to conduct extensive and in-depth consumer insights, and used continuously upgraded technological innovations to empower Chinese consumers' better lives, lead market growth, and help release new consumer momentum."

It is based on the core insight into consumers' ideal better lives and the needs of different product usage scenarios that P&G's booth design for the first time broke the display method divided by categories and innovatively created six major life theme exhibition areas: "Future", "Harmony", "Self-Pleasure", "Vitality", "Growth" and "Green". Mr. Xu Youjie, Vice President of Communications and Public Relations and Chief Sustainability Officer of P&G Greater China, introduced the highlights of the six theme exhibition areas at the opening ceremony. He said: "P&G is committed to providing excellent sustainable products through in-depth consumer insights and innovative upgrades to protect the good life of everyone in every family."


Technological innovation, leading category growth

This year, P&G proposed an upgrade strategy of "leading category growth", through insights into diverse consumer scenarios, in-depth exploration of user potential needs, and support for the research and development of new products. At this CIIE, P&G has gathered many "top products" to fully demonstrate its strength in meeting consumers' personalized and diversified needs for a better life.

P&G's healthy skin category includes two major brands, Safeguard and OLAY body care, bringing new products based on consumer insights. Safeguard has insight into consumers' diverse needs for body lotions, carefully researched and selected formulas, and launched a body lotion that combines the advantages of fragrance, skin feel, and efficacy, providing a moist and smooth care experience, adding "vitality" to consumers' lives. Ms. Fan Jia, President of P&G China Health and Beauty Division and President of Safeguard Global Brand Strategy, introduced at the unveiling ceremony: "Every year, Safeguard focuses on health protection while also striving for breakthroughs. Last year, we responded to the call of consumers and launched a sentimental perfume. This year, we followed the needs of consumers and launched Safeguard body lotion for the first time to drive the upgrade and innovation of the category." Starting from the original intention and loyal to innovation, Safeguard will continue to bring consumers the ultimate healthy skin experience.

Ole-BiO3 Intelligent Clean Magnetic Wave Brush made its debut at the CIIE, with a new generation of iO magnetic wave technology, 3 times the excellent (the average rotational kinetic energy of the iO daily cleaning mode is 3 times the average rotational kinetic energy of the P&G Glo sonic electric toothbrush in daily cleaning mode, P&G R&D data) tooth cleaning kinetic energy, intelligent soft pressure control system plus three cleaning modes, bringing a luxurious tooth cleaning experience.

The Gillette Aurora Razor co-branded model features Gillette's exclusive Aurora clean strip, nano-level 5-layer progressive blades, breakthrough smooth disc technology, and Razer's exclusive logo-limited handle, allowing consumers to enjoy a cool shaving experience like e-sports.

OLAY has achieved a breakthrough in anti-aging technology of "collagen visualization" this year. Using cutting-edge nano-fluorescence technology, it truly presents the whole process of signal peptides activating collagen signals and then synthesizing collagen under an electron microscope. This hard-core technology is also gathered in the new product "Signal Cream", which promotes the production of 9 major collagens for the whole face (referring to the characteristics of the ingredients, derived from third-party laboratory data), effectively improves skin aging problems such as looseness, sagging, and lines, and achieves super-tightening and super-lifting in 28 days (referring to the comparison before use). Once it was launched on the market, it received continuous praise and successfully topped the Tmall anti-wrinkle cream hot-selling list and new product list.

Pampers investigated the reasons why babies wake up at night, and in response to the needs of the new generation of young parents for their babies to use diapers at night, it launched a real "night-time pull-up pants", which is specially designed with "five-fold protection" to help babies sleep through the night. What's more worth mentioning is that Pampers Sleeping Pull-up Pants has a unique leak-proof pocket design at the back waist according to the shape of the baby's waist. The leak-proof pocket can also support enough space when the baby is lying down, and there is no fear of leakage when rolling and twisting.

Be positive and kind, and practice green commitments

At this CIIE, P&G's latest green innovation achievements were also unveiled in the "Green" theme exhibition area as scheduled, demonstrating P&G's practical actions in practicing the concept of sustainable development. P&G started from the source of product design and redefined the standard of excellent products-not only to meet consumer needs, but also to be sustainable. This exhibition is the first major exhibition of Head & Shoulders' new "Simple" series of anti-dandruff shampoo in China. The product contains only 9 selected ingredients (referring to the 9 ingredients in the ingredient list), and uses a streamlined formula to effectively remove dandruff and protect consumers' scalp health. The bottle body reduces plastic by 35% (referring to the 35% reduction in plastic usage compared to the packaging of Head & Shoulders' ordinary anti-dandruff shampoo of the same specification), and the soft material can be curled to help consumers "empty the bottle" smoothly, and all packaging is recyclable (only applicable to areas that can handle recycling and reuse). Ms. Deng Shenglan, President of P&G Greater China Hair Care Division and Brand Management, delivered a keynote speech entitled "'Simple and Deep' Black Technology Head & Shoulders Opens a New Era of Scalp Care" at the unveiling ceremony. She mentioned: "In 1988, we introduced Head & Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo to Chinese consumers. In 2023, we launched a new series of simple shampoos to bring innovative dandruff and scalp care experiences. Head & Shoulders' "Simple" series is a revolutionary environmentally friendly packaging shampoo that truly reduces the burden on the earth and relieves the pressure on consumers."

Ariel three-chamber laundry detergent gel beads have three core patented technologies, 7-day long-term antibacterial (tested by placing washed cotton cloth for 7 days to inhibit bacteria that easily produce odor in a humid environment), anti-mite (tested with dust mites under microbiological laboratory conditions), 10 times super cleaning power (data from a third-party professional laboratory, referring to 10 times the protein enzyme cleaning power, using the national standard inspection method, using the national standard formula laundry detergent as the comparison sample, on the national standard protein-based dirty cloth, 1/10 of the amount of decontamination can achieve the decontamination power of the comparison sample). Its packaging is made of 50% recycled plastic, giving waste a second life, and the lid uses an integrated texture engraved label to greatly reduce the use of plastic.
