the UK released its environmental reporting strategy for the next 25 years

British Prime Minister Theresa May launched the national environmental protection strategy for the next 25 years in London on the morning of 11, announcing that the UK plans to eradicate the use of all unnecessary plastic waste by 2042. In her speech, Theresa May said: "People will be shocked by how much unnecessary plastic waste is produced today." She said that the plastic waste produced in Britain every year could fill 1,000 seats of London's Royal Albert Hall.

Prime Minister Theresa May did not mention in her speech that in the past, two-thirds of the plastic waste in the UK had long relied on developing countries such as China to deal with it. In the past, the UK could earn billions of pounds a year by exporting second-hand plastic waste. After China banned the import of foreign waste in 2018, The UK and other developed countries must redesign their own waste recycling policies.

In her speech, Theresa May revealed that the UK will extend the plastic ban policy, the future use of all plastic bags will be charged, the government will also deal with polluting waste to reduce the use and production of plastic waste assistance.

Some environmental campaigners have given the UK's new strategy a lukewarm reception, with one saying the whole strategy "lacks urgency and details are fragmented" and another questioning whether it is necessary to wait 25 years before banning plastic waste altogether. British media also questioned: the strategy lacks legislative guarantees, more requires consumers to pay for plastic waste, and does not propose stricter measures for producers to ban plastic.
