Encourage delivery companies to use packaging that has passed green product certification
Today (6th), the State Post Bureau held a routine press conference to interpret the "Management Measures for Express Mail Packaging". The Measures, which came into effect on March 12, are China's first special departmental regulations on the management of express mail packaging. They define the system design and provisions on three key issues: what package, how to package and how to manage mail express packages.
The Measures clarify the unified management responsibility of the headquarters of the delivery enterprises, and stipulate that the delivery enterprises should establish and improve the packaging management system, and the enterprises belonging to the trademark, the name or the delivery details sheet should implement unified management of the mail express packaging. "Measures" also strengthen the mail express packaging source control.
The Measures also encourage delivery enterprises to purchase and use packaging that has passed the green product certification. At the same time, in view of the replacement of disposable plastic products, the content of heavy metals in packaging and the control of benzene solvent residues and other issues, the responsibility of enterprises is clarified and the source control is strengthened. Delivery enterprises are encouraged to establish and improve working mechanisms and recycling processes, and recycle packaging. Guan Aiguang, deputy director of the market supervision department of the State Post Bureau, said that the State Post Bureau plans to carry out special law enforcement inspections and strengthen supervision to ensure effective implementation of the Measures from April next year, which is the first anniversary of the implementation of the Measures.
