Bimodal polyethylene refers to polyethylene resin with two peaks in molecular weight distribution curve
Compared with ordinary polyethylene, bimodal polyethylene has both excellent physical and mechanical strength and excellent processing performance---the high molecular weight part is used to ensure its physical and mechanical strength, and the low molecular weight part plays a lubricating role in the resin to improve the product processing. Such bimodal polyethylene is not only better than the general unimodal molecular weight distribution polyolefin in processing during blow molding, but also easier to process, with high yield and low energy consumption; and due to the reduction of melt flow disturbance, the mechanical properties of the product are more stable. Bimodal high-strength film special resin products have extremely high mechanical strength, stiffness and good processing performance (at high speed), and can be processed into inflatable tubular films that require high impact, high vibration resistance and high mechanical strength. They are suitable for making ultra-thin films, shopping bags, waste bags, heavy-load packaging bags, food and sundries and high-end commodity packaging, and fresh-keeping films. The produced films have strong paper-like properties and tensile strength. China's demand for this product currently relies mainly on imports, which consumes a large amount of foreign exchange every year. Under such circumstances, it is of great significance to develop high-strength, high-rigidity ultra-thin film polyethylene resins that have a large market gap and are urgently needed by the plastic processing industry, occupy the market, and meet the needs of users.
