Foamed plastic board is a branch of plastic foam material or plastic sheet. In other words, it is the foaming result of plastic sheet or plate-shaped foam plastic.

Classification

Common foamed plastic sheets are as follows:

Polyethylene foam board (EPE) is usually a soft material processed by using butane or peroxide as a foaming agent, or a sheet composite formed by first making a thinner EPE sheet and then heat-sealing it. It is mainly used for cushioning packaging, sound insulation, heat insulation, etc. Its foaming ratio is 20-30 times, which is a high foaming material.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam - usually a plate-shaped profile formed by adding air or foamable substances to the PVC sheet formula through a T-type die, mainly to foam its core layer, and the foaming ratio is less than 15 times. It is mainly used in various architectural decoration occasions.

Polypropylene (PP) and ABS foam - the foaming principle is the same as above. Mainly used in automobiles, electrical appliances and other fields.

Function

Protect the main structure of the building and extend the life of the building. Since external insulation is to place the insulation layer on the outside of the structure, the stress caused by structural deformation due to temperature changes is reduced, and the erosion of the structure by harmful substances and ultraviolet rays in the air is reduced.

Effectively eliminate "thermal bridges". In the past, when using insulation, "thermal bridges" were difficult to avoid, while external wall insulation effectively prevents the generation of thermal bridges and avoids condensation.

Improve the moisture and temperature of the wall. Generally, internal insulation requires a vapor barrier layer, while the thermal permeability of external insulation materials is much stronger than that of the main structure. Condensation generally does not occur inside the wall. The temperature of the entire wall of the structural layer is increased, which further enhances the thermal insulation performance of the wall.

It is conducive to maintaining a stable room temperature. Using external wall insulation, since the structural layer with a larger heat storage capacity of the wall is on the inside of the wall, it is conducive to maintaining a stable room temperature.

Increasing the usable area of the house can avoid the damage of the insulation layer to the secondary decoration.
