High heat-resistant plastic flexible packaging materials were mostly used for retort sterilization in the past, and the packaging requirements for retort sterilization are 120¡æ, 10-20min. Under the conditions of retort sterilization or heating at 120¡æ, 10-20min, there are no obvious changes in appearance, shape, and quality. During the storage process of packaged food, there is no container damage, leakage of contents, secondary microbial contamination, and deterioration of contents due to light and heat. The retort bags made of multi-layer composite retort films with light-shielding aluminum foil as the middle layer, high barrier plastic PA and PET as the outer layer, and heat-sealed PE and PP as the inner layer are the most used. Some new multi-layer composite materials containing high barrier materials such as EVOH, PVDC, MXD6, and silicon oxide vapor-deposited films are also gradually used.
