Also known as plastic pelletizer, a type of plastic extrusion molding equipment, it heats the plastic raw material to make it a viscous flow state, and continuously extrude it through the extrusion die under pressure, and then cools it into a strip glass state, and obtains cylindrical or elliptical plastic particles through a pelletizing device.
Pelletizer is the abbreviation of plastic pelletizer, a common name in Hong Kong and Taiwan, China. It is usually called a granulator or plastic granulator in the Pearl River Delta and coastal areas of China, and is also called a pelletizer in the inland central and western regions.
The pelletizer consists of four parts: the main machine, auxiliary machine, peripheral equipment, and control system (as shown below), which are usually called a pellet production line.
Also known as the mother machine, its characteristic is that the main difference between pelletizers for different plastics is reflected in the main machine, and the requirements for producing different plastic particles are achieved through the design and change of its screw.
It is mainly composed of the following parts:
¢Ù Extrusion system. It is mainly composed of barrel, screw, die head and filter screen. Its function is to plasticize plastic raw materials in film, granular, powder or other shapes into uniform melt under the action of temperature and pressure, and then be extruded from the die head continuously at constant temperature, constant pressure and constant quantity by the screw.
¢Ú Transmission system. It is mainly composed of motor, gear reducer and belt. Its function is to drive the screw and make the screw obtain the necessary torque and speed under given process conditions (such as temperature, pressure and speed) and rotate evenly to complete the extrusion process.
¢Û Heating and cooling system. It is mainly composed of heaters and cooling devices set outside the barrel, cooling devices inside the screw, etc. Its function is to ensure that the extrusion process is completed within the temperature range required by the process by heating or cooling the barrel, screw and other components.
¢Ü Feeding system. It is mainly composed of hopper and automatic feeding device. Its function is to provide the required materials to the extrusion system stably and continuously.
Also called sub-machine. The main structure of the auxiliary machine is similar to that of the main machine, and its function is to further homogenize and extrude the materials evenly. The differences are as follows:
¢Ù Die head. The structure of the die head of the pelletizing auxiliary machine is quite diverse. According to whether the net is changed, it is divided into a net-changing die head and a non-net-changing die head; according to the shape of the screen plate, it is divided into a round screen die head and a square screen die head; according to the net changing method, it is divided into a manual net changing die head, an electric net changing die head and a hydraulic net changing die head; according to the number of net positions, it is divided into a single die head and a double die head; according to the different pelletizing and cooling methods, it is divided into water-cooled strand pelletizing, air ring die face hot cutting, water ring die face hot cutting, and underwater pelletizing;
Peripheral equipment
¢Ù Cooling device: mainly composed of cooling water tank, cooling water ring, air duct or air curtain. Its function is to cool the viscous flow material extruded from the die head into a strip glass state.
