In the co-extrusion of profiles, the extruder that extrude "small materials" is generally called a co-extruder, and the one that extrude the main profile is called a main extruder. The structural difference between a co-extruder and an ordinary extruder lies mainly in the design of the frame. In co-extrusion technology, the layout of the extruder is also very important.
The co-extruder is an important part of the co-extrusion technology. It is specially developed to adapt to the small co-extrusion material flow and can be docked with different forms of main machines. In the co-extrusion of profiles, the extruder that extrude "small materials" is generally called a co-extruder, and the one that extrudes the main profile is called a main extruder. For the co-extrusion of hard PVC profiles, the main extruder is usually a twin-screw extruder, and the co-extruder is usually a single-screw extruder, and most of the small machine series are 25 models and 30 models. The main purpose of the co-extruder is to be used in conjunction with various main extruders, but it can also be used alone with an appropriate die to produce various products.
The structural difference between the co-extruder and the ordinary extruder lies mainly in the design of the frame. According to the different frames, the co-extruder can be divided into two types: external and online. The external co-extruder can be divided into three types: vertical, horizontal and angle co-extruder according to the different installation positions; the online co-extruder can be placed on the main extruder and on the shaping table. The co-extruder has the following characteristics:

¢ÚSmall control system, easy to operate;
¢ÛMobile frame, easy to disassemble and repair;
¢ÜFlexible flow channel interface, strong versatility.
In co-extrusion technology, the layout of the extruder is also very important. For the newly built extrusion system, if the space allows, the extruders can be arranged side by side or in a star shape, and can be designed to be compact and convenient for operation and maintenance; for the existing extrusion system, the above arrangement can be adopted, or the co-extruder can be installed on the main extruder like a shoulder. In addition, Greiner has recently developed post-coextrusion technology. Its feature is to place a coextruder on the shaping table, and then perform composite coextrusion after the main profile is cooled and shaped.
