Shell-and-tube heat exchanger is the most widely used heat exchanger in chemical industry and alcohol production. It is mainly composed of shell, tube sheet, heat exchange tube, head, baffle, etc. The required materials can be made of ordinary carbon steel, copper, or stainless steel. During heat exchange, one fluid enters from the connecting pipe of the head, flows in the tube, and flows out from the outlet pipe at the other end of the head. This is called the tube side; another fluid enters from the connecting pipe of the shell and flows out from another connecting pipe on the shell. This is called the shell-side shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
Physical and mechanical properties table
Material characteristics
(1) Polypropylene has excellent chemical resistance. It has no destructive effect on inorganic compounds, regardless of acid, alkali, or salt solutions, except for strongly oxidizing materials, up to 120¡ãC. It is insoluble in almost all solvents at room temperature. It can be used on general alkanes, hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones and other media.
(2) The melting point of polypropylene plastic is 164-174¡æ, so the general use temperature can reach 110-125¡æ
(3) It does not scale, does not pollute the medium, is non-toxic, and can also be used in the food industry.
(4) The material is light in weight and the equipment is extremely easy to install and maintain.
