The roller surface material is the raw extruded ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe produced by our factory, which is more excellent than conventional products in wear resistance, corrosion resistance, non-stickiness, self-lubrication and other properties.
Different from metal rollers, some use ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE), which has the most superior mechanical and physical properties among engineering plastics, as the material to make roller surfaces and seat covers. Compared with traditional materials, it has outstanding advantages in performance.
1. The molecular structure of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is a winding linear arrangement, so its impact strength is extremely high. European and American countries have long used this material in bulletproof vests and armor protection. In recent years, China has also been developing and applying ultra-high materials to gradually replace bulky metal materials. Acting on rollers, it will not break due to long-term rotation, falling or impact.
2. The friction coefficient of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene products is extremely small, similar to the ice surface. As the surface of the roller, it can effectively reduce the friction with the belt surface, thereby extending the service life of the belt.
3. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has excellent wear resistance and is the best wear resistance among all engineering plastics. Experimental data show that its wear resistance is 5-7 times that of carbon steel or stainless steel under relative conditions. For this reason alone, its service life is more than three times longer than that of steel rollers.
4. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has excellent corrosion resistance. At room temperature, any concentration of corrosive media such as acid, alkali, salt, sulfur, etc. is difficult to react chemically with it. As a roller, there is no need to worry about corrosion and rust.
Fifth, the water absorption rate of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is extremely low (0.01%), so its own anti-adhesion property is extremely good. Even in water or oil medium, dust will not stick to its surface and scale. As a roller, first, there is no need to worry about the surface biting the belt due to adhesion of materials, and second, there is no need to worry about the increase in rotation resistance due to scaling of the rotating parts.
Sixth, the specific gravity of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is very light, only about 0.94, which is 1/8 of carbon steel. As a roller, installation and replacement are easy and convenient, and the operation is noiseless, which reduces the work intensity and purifies the working environment.
Seventh, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene rollers can have dual anti-static (anti-static, halogen-free flame retardant) characteristics (MT558.1-2005), which can be used in special environments such as coal mines to ensure safety.
