Extrusion molding machine is a mechanical equipment used to produce rubber products such as tires, inner tubes, hoses, etc. It can also be used for covering cables and wires.
Extrusion molding machines can be divided into two categories: extruders and calenders. Extruders are commonly used to extrude treads, inner tubes, hoses and various rubber profiles, and can also be used to cover cable and wire products. Common types of extruders include screw extruders. Calenders are mainly used for gluing or rubbing of cord canvas, laminating of rubber materials, composite pressing and embossing.
The working principle of the extruder is to stir, mix, plasticize and compact the rubber materials in the barrel through the action of the extrusion screw, then move toward the head and finally extrude a product of a specific shape from the die. Extruders are divided into hot feed and cold feed. The rubber materials used in hot feed extruders have been preheated by an open rubber mixer, while cold feed extruders use unheated rubber materials.
The main working parts of the calender are rollers, which usually contain more than three rollers. When the rubber with appropriate temperature and plasticity enters the gap between the relatively rotating rollers, it will be strongly squeezed and stretched under the action of friction, thus forming the desired product. In order to ensure the uniformity of the thickness of the calendered product, modern calenders are usually equipped with roller deflection compensation devices, and some equipment are even equipped with automatic thickness adjustment systems controlled by electronic computers.
