"Metal plastic" is a new composite material developed by Chinese scientists, which has the characteristics of both metal and plastic. For a long time, the international scientific community has been exploring how to give metal materials the glass-forming ability of plastic, which is a research topic that has attracted much attention. "Metal plastic" not only inherits the general properties of metals, but also has some characteristics of plastic. In hot water, it can be easily shaped like plasticine; once cooled to room temperature, it can show the excellent characteristics of general metallic glass. With the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Wang Weihua's research team from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, completed this research. Their work was published in the authoritative academic journal Physical Review Letters and was highly praised by Nature magazine.
